Just for fun (and learning)
"Fixing" a legendary artist art!
For this post, I am trying something different: "fixing" a panel from a vintage comic book. Specifically, I will be working on the opening page of Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) #20, published in 1978 and illustrated by the great Dave Cockrum.
While I have immense respect for the Dave's art, he is undoubtedly one of the greatest storytellers in comics book history and I would give my left arm just to draw half as good as him, this particular panel has been criticized by fans because Ms. Marvel’s reflection in the image appears to be incorrect.
Given that Cockrum was likely working under a tight deadline without the advantages of the digital era, is understandable it is not perfect. I am going to attempt to correct the reflection just for fun.
My first attempt will be simply to estimate the position. If that doesn't work, I will use additional resources and try again in a future post. Wish me luck!
To be continued in the next post!
